Today we get to see a less common type of nail fungus, superficial white onychomycosis. Can you guess why it’s called that?!
This presentation of nail fungus can sometimes be caused by a yeast, instead of a typical mold or fungus. Depending on the type of nail fungus, the correct topical or oral treatment needs to be prescribed in order to effectively eliminate the fungus present.
First we are going to start with routine nail filing and a topical solution to see if there is any improvement. If not, we will decide on a more surgical treatment in the future.
